WOOHOO! We are finally launching The Darling Wedding Co! We will be transitioning all the social media pages, web pages, and advertising for Beyond Elegant Events to the Darling Wedding Co. (Bear with us while we make the necessary adjustments.) We are so excited to bring The Darling Wedding Co to life and share our vision with others!

Why the change?

Why would we change our name after thirteen years?  Over the last year of contemplating, discussing, planning, and designing, people have asked us many times why we want to change the name and branding for Beyond Elegant Events.  That answer is easy…. it was time!

When we started the business thirteen years ago, we had no idea that Beyond Elegant Events would take off as rapidly as it did, surpassing our wildest expectations.

Over time, our vision for the business has evolved and morphed into something different than what we set out to be. 

Instead of wanting to conquer the world and be the biggest, we determined we wanted to just be us, a small team wanting to make each client feel like they are part of our family…because the Darling Wedding Co is a family! You will see in upcoming posts on our blog and social media, we are still in contact with many of our past clients to this day. We love seeing our client’s birth announcements, work accomplishments, and celebrating their anniversaries!

We want to create a team with our clients complete with amazing wedding professionals to bring their dream day to life.  Planning a wedding is an enormous task, with heightened emotions, many challenges, and countless decisions.  We streamlined our process to help make the planning of such a huge day feel as stress free as possible. 

Since we are a small team made up of only two planners, Jayme and Katie (watch for our bios coming soon!) and a couple spectacular assistants, we only take a select few weddings each year.  This boutique wedding approach allows us more initialized attention to our clients.  A planner will never have two weddings in a weekend with us.

The Darling Wedding Co is a place for couples to find a planner, who not only has over thirteen years of knowledge to pull from, but to find a friend to call to vent to when the pressure gets to be too much. We promise to do everything in our power to turn your dreams into reality while providing a collaborative, creative, and fun process.

All you need to know about save the dates!

Save The Date Cards: Etiquette by MyGatsby Are Save the Date Cards Necessary? While Save the Dates cards are not necessary in all situations, they are a wonderful way to generate excitement and, most importantly, allow your loved ones plenty of time to make arrangements to share in your special day. Especially important for friends and family who will be traveling to your wedding location, Save the Dates encourage travelers to take advantage of travel deals, book flights, and make any other necessary plans sooner than later. If your wedding date falls on or around any holidays, or if it's taking place at a popular vacation or destination spot, you should consider sending out your Save the Dates at least five months in advance. In these situations, your guests will likely be thinking of your event as a vacation and will appreciate having the time and information to plan accordingly. When should Save the Dates be sent? Think of your Save the Date cards as a preliminary invitation to your wedding. They should be sent at least four months before the wedding date. Your wedding invitations should follow about two months later. If you are asking guests to travel a great distance, take time off work, or travel during peak seasons, the sooner you can let them know the better! In these circumstances, it's not uncommon to send Save the Date announcements as much as twelve months in advance. Do I need to send a Save the Date to all my guests? No, you are not required to send a Save the Date to everyone on your guest list. Many brides cut costs here by sending Save the Dates only to those guests who will be traveling or who will likely need to make arrangements far in advance. Of course the benefit of sending a Save the Date card to every person you are hoping will attend is that you are increasing the likelihood that they will reserve that date and will, in fact, be able to attend your special day. If, for whatever reason, you do choose to send Save the Dates only to a select number of guests, there is just one rule to follow. Make sure they are sent to all people who have any reason to interact with each other. Imagine how hurt your cousin Sally would be if she visited your aunt May and saw your beautiful Save the Date hanging on her refrigerator, only to realize she had not been sent one and have no idea why. It should be noted that a Save the Date is just that. It's doesn't do double duty as an engagement announcement to everyone you know...and therefore should only be sent to those people you will absolutely be inviting to the wedding itself. Do not send a Save the Date to anyone who will not be receiving a wedding invitation.

The first Madison Wedding Guild Show of the 2011 is coming up on Wednesday, March 2nd!

(Due to the rallies downtown, we have decided to change the location of the next Madison Wedding Guild Show from the Madison Club to the Crown Plaza on East Washington Avenue.)

We are thrilled to be able to give our clients and perspective clients a stress free night that they can come and speak with some of Madison's premier wedding professionals. And, it is free! Free parking, free food and drinks, most importantly free consultations with fantastic wedding vendors!

Something a little different...

So most people who know me, know I am obsessed with office supplies like fun pens, paper, file folders all that good stuff)...I know totally crazy, but true. When I was working on our Christmas cards, I wanted to find wrap around address labels. I found some great options on Esty.com, where I can print them myself.

I love this look, it is something just a bit different. If you are doing a DIY invitation for your wedding and are having a dark color envelope that would be difficult to see the printing for the return address, this is something you might want to think about using this idea.

I also found these adorable little return labels for our thank you notes for both Christmas and our daughter first birthday. These are great because you can customize the colors and words to meet your needs.
